Woven for centuries on the coast of South India, madras carries the climate of its origins: lightweight, breathable, almost restless in the way it moves. Traditionally dyed with vegetable colours that bleed and fade with washing, genuine madras was never meant to be permanent. It was meant to live, and to change as its wearer changed.
