A contemporary interpretation of a timeless classic, our Ogee Mac is a coat engineered for modern elegance and assured performance. Taking its name from the ogee, a distinctive s-shaped curve often found in gothic architecture. The ogee shape is featured throughout the mac, on pockets, belt tip and cuffs and storm flaps on the back of the coat. This coat also features box quilted lining and twist piping inspired by our inimitable dressing gowns. Cut from a technical blend of high-quality polyester and polyamide - chosen for its inherent resistance to wrinkles and rain - the fabric boasts a matte finnish with sumptuous texture and an impeccable drape.

Water Resistant Fabric

Engineered from a blend of polyamide and polyester, this fabric is designed to offer dependable rain resistance while remaining soft to the touch. Lightweight yet resilient, it combines practical performance with everyday comfort, making it well suited to outerwear intended for all conditions.

Ogee Inspiration

Named after the Ogee, a type of architectural shape that can trace its roots back into antiquity, now most commonly seen in both English and Venetian Gothic architecture. Ogee is instantly recognisable by fluid curves and sharp points, featured on our Ogee Mac on the pockets, belt tips, cuff fastenings and storm flaps. Also seen on other garments, such as our Walker Jackets, it is a subtle detail that makes the mac distinctly New & Lingwood.

Storm Flap

Positioned across the back shoulders, the storm flap is designed to manage both rain and airflow. It directs water away from the body, helping prevent moisture from entering the coat, while the layered construction allows heat and excess warmth to escape. The result is improved protection from the elements without compromising breathability or comfort.

The Raglan Sleeve

The raglan sleeve extends in a continuous line from the collar to the underarm, designed for ease of movement, it offers comfort and flexibility - particularly when layering. This construction also produces a clean, relaxed shoulder line, lending the garment both practicality and understated elegance.

Storm Tab

The storm tab is a functional fastening detail positioned at the collar, designed to secure the neckline against wind and rain.
